Welcome to Austin! DAC will be held at the centrally located Austin Convention Center!

The first steps you take into sunny Austin, TX will most likely be through the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. You will immediately be immersed into what Austin is known for; being the Live music Capital of the World! With a title like Live Music Capital of the World, you will enjoy live music starting the moment you arrive at the airport. Even the airport features live music 13 times a week at five locations Monday through Friday.

Austin has over 200 live music venues throughout the city, with musical venues for every flavor of music you can think of. Austin is so serious about their live music, that you will even hear live music in grocery stores and city council meetings. For a complete Austin Music Guide, click here.

If you’re looking for nightlife, the Warehouse and Sixth Street Entertainment Districts are for you. The buildings on this four block radius have been turned from warehouses to contemporary, chic hangouts, including dance clubs, bars, restaurants, and of course, live music venues. While Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World, that is not all they are known for. Austin is a melting pot of restaurants; making it an eclectic array of restaurants. For those who want to explore the Austin outdoors, be sure to visit Lady Bird Lake. Take a leisurely stroll around the bike trail and take in the beautiful scenery and stunning views of the skyline. If you want a bigger challenge, you can rent a kayak, canoe or even a paddle board at various locations along the bike trail.

While in Austin, be sure to check out the world famous bats at the Congress Avenue Bridge. During the summer, the world’s largest urban colony of bats emerge each night to hunt pesky bugs from underneath the Congress Avenue Bridge. This is one of the most unique and interesting tourist attractions anywhere!

To finish off your week at DAC, take a trip to SoCo, a range of Congress Avenue sprawling with unique shops, eclectic accommodations, hip restaurants, art galleries, and of course, more music venues. On the 1st Thursday of every month (June 6 while at DAC), most all shops stay open until 10pm and feature activities and various events. This is one thing not to miss while in Austin!
