The Designer Track focuses on practitioners: designers, embedded software developers, and application engineers. This complements DAC's strong research focus on algorithms and methodology. Designer Track aims to illustrate both benefits and challenges of tool usage, and provides educational and networking benefits for both end-users and tool developers. The topics are at the interface between design and automation, an area that until now has been under-represented in EDA.
Designer Track has two components: a presentation track that runs parallel to other DAC tracks and a poster track. Presentations and posters are not included in the DAC proceedings. However, your material will be included in the DAC Archives after the conference.
From the beginning, the submission process for the Designer Track was intended to spare authors the many hours of preparation associated with a regular manuscript submission. Authors will submit their work in the form of a slide deck suitable for presentation at the conference. Submitted slide decks should include speaker notes that explain the material on the slides.
Authors of accepted submissions will be invited to present a poster during a Designer Track poster session. Authors of particularly high-quality submissions will be invited to present their work as a talk during a regular session.
