||Conference OPENS at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, USA. Be sure to bring a final version of your presentation on a portable media device or CD-ROM. Special Session presentations will follow the 30-minute presentation format; 25 minutes to present with 5 minutes to answer questions and wrap up the presentation (unless your organizer has specified a different format). Your written manuscript is published in the proceedings of the conference, and is available to your audience prior to your presentation. In the manuscript, you have presented your contribution in detail, including a lengthy introduction to the subject, a description of your work with proofs and detailed results, and a list of references. Many of those in the audience will have already read or glanced through your manuscript. The goal of your concise presentation is to pitch the basic idea behind your manuscript within 30 minutes. During your presentation, they will expect to hear you introduce the problem, talk about your approach and support your conclusions. You can be less formal than in the written version, less analytical in speaking about your subject.
The following are links to instruction guidelines in an effort to assist presenters in their preparation for conference:
PowerPoint, LaTex, and LibreOffice files are the only acceptable visual aide this year at DAC. DAC will provide a PC with Windows, OpenOffice, LibreOffice and an LCD projector. Appropriate connections for both PC and Mac laptop computers will be available. Due to compatibility issues, using your own computer for your presentation is NOT recommended. Therefore, you MUST bring a back-up copy of your presentation on a USB drive or CD-ROM.
Presenters are entitled to a discounted full-conference registration fee. Registration instructions will be sent to the presenters by March 8. You must register by March 29 in order for your paper (if you have elected so) to be published in the 2013 DAC Proceedings.
If you have any questions, please contact the DAC Registration Coordinator, Jackie Horn
