Technical Panel Presenters

Important Information and Key Dates for
Technical Panel Members:
March 12: All details of your panel are due to the DAC office. This includes: title, abstract, panel members - affiliation, email, city/state/country for each. Make sure your Panel Organizer has the correct abstract for your panel. There are no changes to the abstract after this date!
April 20: Final program changes deadline. Be sure to communicate with your panel organizer if you feel a change is to be made. The Organizer will then approve and share the changed information with the DAC office.
May 7:
Presenters - Permission and Release form for supplemental audio/video is DUE. You will submit your form online, directly to ACM. ACM will send you this link after April 25. Check your inbox and junk folders!
June 3: Conference opens at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, USA.

Panel presentations will follow the 30-minute presentation format; 25 minutes to present with 5 minutes to answer questions and wrap up the presentation. The Panel format will be determined by the Panel Organizer and moderated by the Panel Chair. Panels are not required to produce a written manuscript for the Proceedings or produce a slide presentation. However, slide presentations are encouraged in order to further clarify the topic. During your presentation, they will expect to hear you introduce the problem, talk about your approach and support your conclusions.  A good panel session explores a single, high-level issue or question and has representatives discussing differing viewpoints. Controversy is appropriate; bickering and personal attacks are not. Sales pitches are inappropriate in a DAC panel. You will alienate your audience if ANY of the panelists attempt to use the conference panel session as a way to promote their products.

PERMISSION AND RELEASE FORM
This form will be sent to you via a link from ACM.  The personalized link will be sent on or after April 25, 2012. If your panel chooses to produce presentation slides for the panel you are participating in, ACM will require this form in order for the slides to be added to the DAC archives.

Please work directly your Panel Organizer on the presentation requirements. Each panel is uniquely organized and may or may not require presentation slides.

REGISTRATION
Panelists are entitled to a discounted conference registration fee. Registration instructions will be sent to the presenters by April 5, 2012. Please register by April 18, 2012.  If you have any questions, please contact the DAC Registration Coordinator Jackie Horn.
